Never Forsaken is a post written for an anonymous reader of my old blogger blog in July of 2011. When I came over to wordpress earlier this year I imported all my posts. I updated this post to reblog it today.
Dear anonymous reader, I felt led to write to you, to tell you: “YOU are never truly alone!“
I know you know God is always with you especially at the times that it seems the most like He’s not. I also know you know that Christ Jesus is ever-present with you and that you can talk to Him freely in the same way that you talk to others. But did you know that if you are an obedient born-again believer, Christ sends the Holy Spirit to you and He lives within your spirit?
“If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:15-18 KJV)
The Holy Spirit comforts the born-again believer and tells us about Christ:
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” (John 15:26 KJV)
The Holy Spirit teaches the born-again believer ALL truth.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13 KJV)
Let me explain how personal He is to you. Have you ever seen those little hand painted matryoshka dolls; the ones where their top half snap off to reveal another inside? See the images below…
Imagine that the outer one is your body, that the other inside represents your soul, the other your spirit, the other inside your spirit represents Christ in you and the other one the Holy Spirit. Well, the Holy Spirit is inside your spirit but He permeates all, out to your skin, because your body is the temple of the Lord. So anonymous reader, whenever you feel solitary, abandoned and comfortless remember this:
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5 KJV).
“(For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.” (Deuteronomy 4:31 KJV).
You are NEVER forsaken. God Bless You!
