First I must apologize to my readers: I’ve been on a long overdue mini vacation with my family. We did a road trip around the coast of Kyushu Island, Japan where we live. I will put up some pics on my other blog IKIMASHITA soon. I’m back now.
The USA is a sort of standard that many countries look to. Many countries are becoming “Americanized” because of the subtle American cultural influences through the media. This is not bad per se because I believe God founded America for a great purpose regarding His kingdom. But let’s leave that discussion for another post.
What is “bad“ is the fact that people are being misled by the prevalence of SIN and the carnality of part of the collective church body. Bible believers are being misled to think that SIN is okay and non-believers are sinking deeper into sin as a result. It is COMPROMISE and is almost like quicksand in its effect; people move around in it and sink fast or people stay still, sink very slowly, but sink nonetheless.
People seem to have no problem with compromise. It is SIN! SIN is the practice of ANYTHING contrary to the righteousness and holiness of GOD ALMIGHTY. Bible believers are called to come out from among UNBELIEVERS and separate ourselves from them because WE are the temple of the living GOD. The temple of GOD has NO AGREEMENT with idols! The temple has NO COMPROMISE!!!
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 (KJV)
The scripture also tells us that we are blessed if we:
- DO NOT move around under the advice and intention of wicked and unrighteous people;
- DO NOT remain, abide or persist in the same habits that an unborn-again person has; and
- DO NOT sit down and live in the same place where arrogant and scornful people live or assemble.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalm 1:1 (KJV)
Does this mean that if a person walks, stands and sits with the ungodly, the sinners and the scornful they won’t be blessed? NO! Read it again. It is saying specifically that we should not operate under their advice, persist in practicing their habits or establish ourselves in their assembly!
This does not mean that we shouldn’t minister to sinners, it just means that we should not compromise by partaking in rebellion. Remember that Jesus and some of the Apostles like Paul and Peter went among the people to teach them and to urge them to abandon sin. They sat down with sinners and talked to them but DID NOT indulge in their sinful practices. God is saying here, when we come out from among those who “practice” SIN, and separate ourselves from them, He will show Himself to be Our Father and we will be blessed.
Human’s always err in judgment apart from the direct influence of the Holy Spirit! Ultimately it is Satan, and the anti-Christ spirit that exists in the world, that influence humans, but it is humans who choose to err based on these influences, and then end up going contrary to God.
This is why it is so very important to maintain a strong CONSTANT RELATIONSHIP with God the Father through the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name! There is no right way without them! The world system is a revolving door of deception with one final destination apart from God.
I am hurt every time I think about the veil that is over people’s eyes but I thank God for the hope that is there, FOR ALL, in Christ Jesus!
BLESSINGS!
In Christ
Sheldon

I’ve thought of how sin likes to dress itself up in so many ways that appeal to the flesh, but it all ends in death. I am seeing churches, pastors, and believers glossing over sin, accepting it, ignoring it. Thank you for this reminder of the danger of compromise.

This post by my friend, Sheldon, is outstanding and an eye opener for how the rest of the world see us in America.

the way Satan helps to twist words around and helps us to think that we are alright sinning over and over. Satan is so smart, we really have to work hard on our journey to walk with God

Indeed Terry. Satan has been doing that for a few thousand years now. He twisted words with Adam and Eve in the garden and tried to do it with Jesus on the mountain. Satan’s main place to attack us is the mind. This is why the Bible says we are to put on the mind of Christ.

Thank you so much for this. I have been compromising and this just helped me to get back on track, and to strengthen my relationship with God
