How do we determine whether or not a specific law is GOOD LAW or BAD LAW? I’ve been thinking about President Obama’s recent stance on gay marriage and Billy and Franklin Graham’s response to it. It’s like cowboys shooting it out at the O.K. corral in Tombstone, Arizona back in 1881!

Are Christians going to allow Satan to kill people with a bad law and drag them down to hell? Speak up, speak out, but do so according to the supreme authority of the Holy Bible!
Christians are taught to be obedient to the HOLY BIBLE, the undisputed, irrefutable, infallible Word of God. The Bible tells us to obey the laws of man (Titus 3:1). But what happens when man’s enacted human legislation is in direct conflict with God’s Biblical law? Automatically we will say that God’s LAW supersedes man’s law. Man’s LAW is good if men use it within the boundaries of good. Does this mean that man’s law is not good if men use it to legalize sin? DID YOU KNOW GOD ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE IN THE BIBLE? Let’s see what the Bible says in 1 Timothy 1 (KJV).
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
It’s in there as plain as day. The law is good IF man uses it lawfully. So this means, ultimately, ANY LAW that is enacted in direct conflict with God’s written Word (let me clarify: not man’s interpretation of God’s Word but what it says at face value) is BAD LAW. Laws should be made to expose lawlessness not to excuse or protect SIN.
The scripture goes on to mention murderers, liars and “them that defile themselves with mankind“. This latter phrase is translated from one Greek word: ἀρσενοκοίτης (arsenokoitēs) (Strong’s G733). It is used only twice in scripture, here and in 1 Corinthians 6:9. It refers specifically to one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual.
NOTICE, the lawless, disobedient, ungodly, sinners, unholy and profane, murderers, manslayers, whoremongers, sodomites, slavers, liars are all in the SAME CATEGORY and labeled as being: CONTRARY TO SOUND DOCTRINE!!!
Enacting laws to justify SIN is unlawful. People cannot cheat and expect to get just rewards.
Trying to cheat God is NO EXCEPTION. “And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.” 2 Timothy 2:5 (KJV) Essentially, people who PRACTICE sin or anything contrary to the Holy Bible’s teaching cannot receive rewards that are given to the righteous. Case in point Romans 1:26-32. In this scripture the Bible lists 24 things and says those who PRACTICE these are “worthy of” death.
The scripture does NOT stop at “death” though, so don’t you stop there! We know that “…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…” 1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV) The word WHOSOEVER in John 3:16 covers EVERYONE. And we know this means if ANYONE is truly sorry for practicing sin, repents to Christ and ceases to practice these things, they are forgiven and given a brand new start at life. This change can happen at anytime. It’s never too late when the person is alive but too late only when he/she is dead!
Mankind has drifted far from God because of the desire to indulge in the instantly gratifying pleasures of sin. Legislators are human too and very often fail to consider God’s LAW when enacting human legislation. This results in BAD LAW. People have free will and can choose to practice whichever sin they want even though this displeases God.
Passing laws to legalize sin or to attempt to make practicing sin humanly “right” is a tool of Satan in the war for souls. Can you imagine how many people will go to hell because they have been tricked into believing that since the law “legalizes” their particular sin, it is right? It should not be a surprise to any Christian that Satan is working overtime to drag as many people to hell as he can. Also, it should not be a surprise that he will try to do this by any means necessary, including using the laws of man.
JUST SAYING!!!

I’m not American, but nearly all world leaders look up to the US and try to emulate their behaviour and if they don’t do so then you can be guaranteed that citizens will try to mimic the culture. It seems to me that Obama has done a lot of damage in a very short time and yes you are right it definitely seems to be forwarding the work of the deceiver. This whole world needs prayer.

Florence thanks for your input,
Sorry, I’ve been away from the blog for a few days but I’m back now. It is true, the US is a sort of standard that many countries look to. Many countries are becoming “Americanized” because of the subtle American cultural influences through the media. This is not bad per se. What is “bad” is the fact that people are being misled. Bible believers are being misled to think that SIN is okay and non-believers are sinking deeper into sin as a result. Its almost like quicksand in its effect; people move around in it and sink fast or people stay still, sink very slowly, but sink nonetheless.
While I agree with what you’ve said here, I don’t believe Obama is to blame directly. Human’s will always err in judgement apart from the direct influence of the Holy Spirit and Obama is no exception! Ultimately it is Satan and the anti-Christ spirit that exists in the world, that influence humans, but it is humans that choose to err based on the influences and end up going contrary to God.
This is why it is so very important to maintain a strong relationship with God the Father through the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name! There is no right way without them! The world system is a revolving door of deception with one final destination apart from God. I am sad every time I think about the veil that is over people’s eyes but I thank God for the hope that is there for us in Christ Jesus!
Thank you again for stopping by and leaving a comment, and I hope that you are back to blogging regularly. I think I can speak for all your readers and say WE value your very profound and insightful writings. Blessing to you and your husband!
In Christ
